Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-06-23. This policy describes what VoteROI.com Mood Forecast collects, how it's used, and your rights.
1. What we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email, organization (optional), and password hash. When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your billing details directly; we receive only a subscription token and the last four digits of your card.
Usage analytics. Server logs include IP, user agent, referrer, page path, and timestamp. We use these to monitor health, detect abuse, and improve performance. Aggregate usage analytics also pass through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
Communications. Support emails, contact-form submissions, and newsletter signups are stored in our email infrastructure (Resend) and audience tools (EmailOctopus).
Error telemetry. Crashes and exceptions are reported to Sentry with stack traces and request context. Sentry receives no payment data and we scrub email addresses from error payloads before transmission.
2. How we use what we collect
- Operate the Service: serve content, authenticate sessions, process subscriptions.
- Communicate: respond to support requests, send subscription and security notifications.
- Improve: diagnose bugs, prioritize features, measure engagement.
- Comply: meet legal, tax, accounting, and law-enforcement obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share account data with advertisers. We do not allow third parties to set tracking cookies on the site beyond the analytics tools listed below.

4. Cookies
We use first-party cookies for session authentication and user preferences (theme, sidebar state). We use third-party cookies for analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) and payment processing (Stripe). Most browsers let you block cookies; doing so will break login functionality.
5. Your rights
If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or California (or other jurisdictions with comparable laws), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@voteroi.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You can unsubscribe from any marketing email via the link in the email footer. We cannot opt you out of transactional emails (receipts, account notifications) while you have an active subscription.
6. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active and for up to 24 months after closure for billing reconciliation and legal obligations. Server logs are rotated and purged after 90 days. Newsletter unsubscribes remove your email from active sending lists but retain a one-way hash to prevent accidental re-add.
7. Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes. Database connections use TLS. Access to production data is limited to David B. Wheeler. We do not store payment card details.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the updated version with a new effective date and email active subscribers.
